France: 10 days to appeal to the CNDA in accelerated, inadmissibility and border asylum cases
The EU Pact on Migration and Asylum applies to asylum applications lodged from 12 June 2026. The CNDA (France's national asylum court) says the appeal deadline is now 10 days from notification of the OFPRA decision in these cases:
- decisions taken under the accelerated procedure
- inadmissibility decisions
- cases under the new border asylum procedure, where OFPRA and the CNDA must rule within 12 weeks
In these cases, filing the appeal also counts as a legal aid request unless the applicant expressly waives it. The CNDA provides a dedicated appeal form.
What to tell clients
- Check which OFPRA procedure the case went through. The deadline depends on it.
- Count 10 days from the date the decision was notified, and send the appeal before the deadline ends. A late appeal is inadmissible.
